New CVT Problem - MINI Cooper Forum

This is my second mini and second cvt, a new problem began today. The transmission when in drive is stuck in SD. In addition the "P", "R", and "N" do not display on the speedometer. Any similar problems?

The error code 'EP' began to show on the speedomer so I immediately took it to the dealer. The think a switch is bad that tells the computer what the transmission is doing, what gear it is in ect. They have never changed one and will take more of a look next week.

Sounds a lot better than the whole transmission going at least.

It was a electrical switch and now everyting is back to normal.

a while back, i had problem with my "Reverse" gear. The usual D & SD are OK. When the car is in R mode, the R indicator disappeared from the speedometer!

Plus the car is not engaged too (typically if you put to D or R, it will kinda move by itself....) and I have to REV the car to at least 3000 or more before it reversed.

sent to MINI service and they said the problem was with the sensor + some other mechanical failure....... now everything OK (fingers crossed)...
