Mini One or Cooper CVT? Hello, just wondered from people's experiences if there is much differance between the One and Cooper CVTs? My dealer told me there was'nt much in it as the One developes it's power low down and day to day I would'nt notice it much. This leaves me with the option on the One of a few more options added. But the Cooper on paper with 2seconds 0-60 over the One seems as though it WOULD be quite a bit quicker....I am going for a CVT as I have a disability that means I am better off driving an Auto. Look forward to your opinions! |

| The Cooper is the performance version, and there are a few differences between the two. You get more things with the Cooper, but I don' t know what they all are, as here in the US they don't sell the One. You can add the ECU engine electronic computer chip (as they are sold by non-MINI vendors) to the One and bring the hp up to the Cooper's, as that is the only difference in the engines. | Thanks - I already test drove the One CVT and found it OK performance wise, with great handling and direct steering which I loved. The only real important options for me are Air Con, sports seats and alloys. However, I know you get the latter with the Cooper, but even with a few more options added to the One (such as leather steering wheel) I can budget it. I know it does'nt make a huge differance but I liked the One I test drove with the leather wheel, I have'nt seen a mini yet with the basic wheel so can't comment on it. But I don't really drive fast (licence too important to me as I can't walk that far!) but do really enjoy driving and particulary a car that handles well... Basically it'd be either: Mini One with: Air Con, Sports seats, leather steering wheel, metallic astro black, alloy wheels, rear roof spoiler Cooper with: Air Con, solid black paint with white roof, only one of the above extra options (of course alloys are standard) Last edited by robertc; Jul 25th, 2004 at 03:44 PM. |

| This one seems to come down to your personal preference, and the configured price. Things like fuel mileage are nearly identical, so why not go with the choice that gives you the [option] of using more power when you need it? Unless the price is enough different to tip it back to the One for that reason too.
