| Hi, The first thing I'd do would be to go at the service dept a see for myself that the bolts are really broken.... And at the same time, observe the massive corrosion on what should be stainless steel..... Sorry for you Sebastien |

| To get your car back on the road ASAP, you may have to pay the bill and then fight for compensation later. Or ask to speak to the service manager and persuade him to contact BMW and ask if they would contribute to the cost of the work. Ask to look at your car and inspect the parts in question. | Just another question crossing my mind.... Did you approve the work they did? Did you sign a paper with price and object of the service? If not, they took the liberty of doing it and it is their responsability to return the car as you left it... If this turns out to work, you may have to find another dealer for futur service since they might hate you... I had the problem once with a BMW 328 convertible, on a regular service, they changed all the hydrolic system (automatic gearbox) and a few other things without notice or quote... They just gave me the bill when I showed up to pick the car... I refused to pay what I didn't ask for and couldn't get my car back. I asked for the shop manager and exposed my problem, he refused to help out so I took my cell in front of him, called BMW France, asked for a manager, exposed the facts, he spoke to the shop manager, I payed for what I left the car for (brake pads and inspection) and left with my car... That may be of some help... Nothing can be done on your car without your consent and a precise quote for parts and labor... Let us know Sebastien |

| WTF does removing a hub do for changing pads/rotors? I'm really confused here?? WTF does the hub bolt have to do with removing the rotor and/or caliper? Why would they touch the hub at all? did they suspect some problem from the ABS? Nope, refuse to pay for their incompetence! There is NO reason what-so-ever to remove a hub for a pad or a rotor change. Now if you're talking about the torx bolts that hold the rotor to the hub...they really aren't necessary, they just hold the rotor in place so it's easier to put the lug bolts on. They certainly aren't gonna cost that much. |
