Engine Mount

Has anyone else had a new engine mount fitted? I have just had a new fitted after 16,500 miles.

Regards
Christopher

There's a lot of threads on here about Engine mounts, never had one fitted myself, but my car is less than a year old still.

This is exactly the same mileage as mine. I think everybody who has a Cooper S approaching 17k should check their engine mounts for leaks!!

Mine is now booked in to be replaced on Tuesday under warranty as it is apparently safe to drive (but will leaving nice small puddles of oil as I go though)

My right engine mount was replaced under warranty on Tuesday - only took them about 25minutes to do it.

How does it show you have to have your engine mount(s) replaced?
Some jerking when accel/decel ?

mine made a sort of "knocking" noise when coming off the accelerator at low speeds, at the right hand side of the car.

When my mount went I had a knocking sound when placing my foot on or off the accelerator, but also a series of knocking sounds when starting the engine.

The way I knew mine had gone was there was oil underneathing the mounting and a puddle in the engine bay above the wheel arch. There were also small patches of oil on the driveway near the front drivers side wheel.
