Hi zell and welcome to mini2.The clock on my 05 MCS has been doing the same thing. I was going to post the question as well but you beat me to it, so lets hope someone else has an answer to our problem. As for your problem with the water leak, you must go back to your dealer and press them to sort it out. Not having heard of this happening before isn't good enough. The dealer is supposed to be there to help you with such a problem so make sure they do. Hope you get it sorted out.

I have the same problem for both. My clock gains time. Had to change the time on it just last week...second time since I've had it. I also always see spots on my back window from the wiper fluid. Before I ran out of the fluid, (my dealer obviously didn't fill it full because it ran out after using it once) it would leave a nasty residue. There is a pic of a pw mini with this same problem and left a nasty orangey-brown stain above the mini badge. I put blue'ish wiper fluid in mine and still leaks out. It's definetly a pain in the boot. Just noticed yesterday when I opened the boot to put my schoolbooks in it, the liquid leaked out when the boot was open and now has stain in middle of window. Definetly not cool.

Hi zell, My 05 Cooper has the same "clock problem". Once adjusted and set, it's soon quite a few minutes ahead! Does anyone has a clue, is it a common fault and is it worth going back to dealer? I also have a dirty yellow stain between rear washer and Mini logo. But never saw water leaking. Grtz. Jan-da-man ![]() Last edited by grand_cru; Oct 11th, 2005 at 10:37 PM.

My clock is fine but next time you wash the MINI, run the washers for quite some time (I lifted the blades off the glass) and then refill the washer bottle with plain water to reduce the concentration. This problem seems fairly common but the flushing cured mine. The leakage occurred first in warm weather. Now I have no problems with it. Jim 2005 MCS

| We just got our 06' Pepper White Cooper this past weekend.... Looks like I'll be draining both Front & Rear Washers Jets of all Fuid so that we don't get any nasty yellow stains on our paint, in the weeks to come.. This is at least the 4th or 5th time I have heard of this issue... I don't want to wait till it's too late to see if "it happens" I'll let you know on the clock issue in about 2-3 weeks.. | My 05 Cooper does exactly the same with the clock, always 5 mins fast at least once a month, I thought it was just me!!!!!! Reassuring though that others do have same problem. I had thought of calling dealer about it but dont want to do a 80 round mile journey for only the clock. However if any of you find out a solution then please please post it here or if anyone has been to dealer then let us know how it goes!!! Mary |

Yep, another oner with the clock problem on my 05 Cooper - I actually dont even bother having it displayed anymore as it annoys me so much (and I still think its a real pain to set it)! A question for you with the problem- do you all have the standard Mini fitted radios or third party ones? - I have a Sony (recommended and fitted by the dealer) CD in place of the standard Mini one - the Sony unit keeps perfect time but I wonder if it is something to do with the car not picking up the RDS (??) time from the radio. A friend of mine also has an 05 Cooper and he is not having this issue on his 'standard' Mini unit. Just a thought
