Probably faulty sensor, although mine has a habit of not shutting properly, the parcel shelf can also get in the way. If the boots defo shut tho its probably faulty, take it to the nearest dealer.

Thanks, managed to get it to go out now, is the boot usually an issue to shut properly? Only collected the car today.

The boot is quite heavy so needs a good slam to shut it properly. My friend, who is a Ford owner , got something from my boot and then thought they had shut it properly. The next morning after a night of heavy rain, I got in and started up - yes the boot light open indicator was on - did I move fast or what? Jumped out to make sure my boot wasn't flooded ..... relief, all was ok and my friend lived to see another day!
