Unhappy Possible clutch judder in gear and pulling away

I have a MC with 28,000 miles on it.

From pull away it seems to judder a little more each day, Anything over 1500rpm will always cause the car to judder and it seems that the only chance of it not juddering is to let the car bog down with too little revs. Over the eighteen months that I have had the car it seems to get increasingly worse.

The last few weeks I have noticed that there is some juddder on the move when in second and third gears over 4000rpm and at WOT. Has anyone else noticed this or could it be something other than clutch judder causing it?

Dont get me wrong the whole thing is not severe but definately noticeable. From my single MC experience though it seems that the Mini clutches are not that robust.

You could always try putting it in first with the handbrake ON and seeing if it will rev excessively at the 'bite' with a little gas on. If the engine's revving loads with the clutch engaged but the vehicle is still being held by the handbrake, then it must be the clutch slipping. Just an idea.....

Hi p3, I have clutch judder as well, esp. when cold and not used for a while. No problem with slip though. Clutch got replaced at 30.000 km and there's 54.000km on the clock now.
The tech at BMW told me - if it ain't broken don't fix it, but I kind of think this should not be happening that soon.
I'm gonna ask them to look into it again, but am wondering if we're just being picky (that is, plenty of mini drivers don't bother about the under-average clutch) or if there is a real problem (i hope) with ours.
Will keep you posted - service is due in 500 km.
