Got to work at about 7-00am the other day (Fri) and just about to park in the car park when the steering got heavy and no power steering
Phoned the Mini Emergency helpline a friendly engineer there in 75 mins (not to bad).
Identified that the power steering pump was f***ed, so had to drive the Mini to the nearest BMW dealers in Warrington.
Got a courtesy Mini within 15 mins and returned to work

.They said that the part may have to be ordered and the car would be ready for Mon ?? .
I got a Phone call at about 1-30 the same day to say that the mini was ready, as the part was in stock!.
At least all work was carried out under warranty and the service was excellent BUT I am dissappointed that a major component such as this failed after 14000 miles on a car only 14 months old.
I am an enthusiastic mini driver and have noticed that the car has been slightly off balance the last couple of days: and nearly had the car side on the previous night on a roundabout, was this the start of the steering failure or was it the possible cause ??
What do u guys think as to the service, the failure, and the possible cause
