| Window not closing properly I have had this same problem and understand it like this. When the window is raised it moves completely up and then drop about 5mm to allow it to close normally. If however you raise the window manually (by holding the up button), like you would for the passenger side or if the ignition was off, and release it just before it gets right to the top (at this stage it would be heigher than it should be to close) it doesn't know to move down and closes against the sill. If you press the up button again it will raise a fraction and then drop the usual 5mm. This explains why everthing was ok for the guy above when he lowered and raised his window completely. This has happened to me twice. The first time I thought my door was falling off and couldn't understand as it had closed perfectly a few minutes earlier. The second time it happened was when the battery was disconnected when my gear linkage was fixed. Hope that helps James |

| It happened to me only once - the first time the door was opend after I had my remote re-programmed on the date of delivery. It cracked the A frame when I closed the door, which was swiftly replaced a day or so later by my rather embarrassed dealership. ![]() Click here for a pic of the cracked A frame taken on the day of delivery. | Guess I'll join the chorus. I too have had this happen once. Since I didn't notice it until the passenger door was already closed (no damage) I'm not sure of the raising/lowering sequence that preceded this incident, but I think its entirely possible that it wasn't raised all the way as was suggested. This might also explain why there was no exterior damage to the car or window. I only had to partially lower the window then raise it again to get the window to operate properly. Something to look out for, but right now it seems fairly trivial (unless of course I crack the A frame. Yikes!) | Happened to me a couple of times when it was new but not since then. It *might* be that someone shut the door by pushing the top of the window? This means the window isn't aligned when the door shuts and cant go up... I shut the door now by pushing the door itself or the very bottom of the glass... - Rob |

| I had this when I first got my car, then again more recently. Initially they changed the door handle mechanism, the more recent fault proved to be a water leak in the right "A" pillar which allowed water onto the module which controls the lights, windows, central locking etc. The only item to be affected was the passenger door window not dropping on opening or closing. Was a 1, now 1 of 150 in a 40 |
