Thumbs up

Hi, had the same problem on my 2002 Cooper recently. If you take off the rear wiper arm, 13mm nut and then remove the inner trim panel in the tailgate. Then i removed the whole wiper motor assembly, which is held in with 3 bolts. When you look at the assembly itself the water passes right through it, mine had a load of gunge in it. Cleaned it all up and it worked fine, just refit the bits. Regards Damian.

I had a similar problem - just removed the black plastic bit that covers the nut that holds the arm in place, ordered a new one from the dealer for about a fiver, put it on and works.. basically the final bit that diverts water onto the window was blocked.

I just removed the cap and pipe and used a bike pump to blow it through

Yeah, same here!! I took it in to BMW to fix one problem and told them to see to the rear wiper spray too as it was spitting poorly - as opposed to the usual jet schoosh. BMW says they replaced the washer and it should work fine now..... However, since then - the problem's come back! This time, no water...not even a spit!

I've been trying to book it in so BMW can have another look......just not got round to it!: If I have to pay, then I guess my husband can have a look at it - well the advice has been kindly posted!!!

So far, had to drive into all my parking spaces!!

Sorted mine with a pin. Normally the nozzle gets blocked. Just stick the pin in the hole wiggle it round. Then run the washer. Might take a few attempts to clear the blockage but will be good as new again. Often caused by dirt that gets sucked into the back of the car clogging the hole.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Question Here's hoping

My problem only seems to appear when it is below freezing which is most of the time lately here in Maine.... Things work ok when the temps go up. Perhaps this fix may work for me, but am afraid I might crack the cap in the cold trying to get it off. Ideas?

Hair dryer.

Wiper fluid with ethylene glycol in it.

Excellent thread and just in time. Found mine clogged yesterday. Only use it like once a year
