Wobbly gearstick - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi,
I've just noticed this but not sure if it has always been that way. When the gearstick is in neutral and also when in any gear, there's around 1inch, maybe 2inch of movement left to right. I really don't remember if its always been like this.
What about anyone else?

they certainly dont getting any better :-(

not sure if theres something that can be re-adjusted/replaced to get it as tight and firm as she was ;-)

Only 8 months old so a bit ominous if its going to get worse.

Anyway, popped down to local service centre and they have confirmed its a problem, although not the reason. Booked in later for investigations as they need to remove lots of bits (

) to find the fault.

Thought I'd just report back. They replaced some plastic gear linkage thingy as it was broke. All's well again...apart from sloshing sounds.
