No indicators, won't lock, brake lights on...etc!

Hi all,

I know this is not strictly *stock Mini* related but it was enough of a shock happening to me this weekend that I hope this post might help out others...

Background: I have a stock Mini One 2006 with Sat Nav, Boost cd and a whole load of other options. I also have a Dension IceLink running latest firmware and an iPod Nano 4GB.

Everything has been fine for the last 6 months. I updated my Nano software to 1.1 on Fri night. Went to the car on Sunday, plugged in teh Nano and the following happened...

- no music from Nano, in fact only CD and FM could be selected CDC had dissapeared.
- indicator led in dash no longer worked.
- brake lights were on contantly (even with engine off)
- ice warning was bonging away
- window dropped when I opened the door but wouldn't go back up

I pulled the battery, waited 5 mins and plugged it back in....now, on top of what is listed above I got:

- doors would not unlock or lock with key fob
- car took twice to start
- stereo said 'DISABLED'

At this point I was a little worried but remembered in the back of my mind similar problems listed with the early IceLink modules. Mine is the newest revision but I figured it would be worth a try. I pulled the battery, took out the stereo and disconnected the IceLink piggyback cable. Reconnected everything and THANK GOD it all worked again.

I mailed Mike at NewMiniStuff and he agreed it was likely to be the culprit - he is swapping out the IceLink module as we speak (THANKS MIKE!!).

So - hope this helps some of the other of you - I would be interested to know if anyone else had problems after upgrading to Nano 1.1 software or is it just coincidence???

Cheers - Rich

Nano 1.1 upgrade killed my Mini (I think)???

Hi all,

For the long post of what happened go here : http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...66#post2205466 . All I can say is it was weird and thank god I purchased from Mike at NewMiniStuff and he has seen similar problems before.

I am interested to see if anyone else has upgraded their Nano 4GB to the new 1.1 software version and if it has given them problems with their IceLink+???

Cheers - Rich
