Side window rattle

Both of the side windows in my April 04 MCS are rattling pretty badly now. It started with the driver's side and if you gave the door a good hard close it would go away. Then, after time it became constant. And joy of joys, the passenger's side has started now as well.

Any clues on how to fix this, if it is at all fixable?

I'm kinda used to it for the most part, but if I ever drive my wife's car for a few days in a row, I really notice how bad the rattles are when I hop back in the MINI.

hi mate, how are you guys coping with the heatwave? i used to live in melbourne but now moved to athens greece. i am having problems with the passenger window. i am taking it to the dealer on monday to have the inner seal replaces. also i will tell them to tighten window because its wobbly and sometimes squeaks. will let you know.
cheers from athens!!!

Thanks George it'd be good to hear how you get on. I've fitted Eibach lowering springs to my car, so I reckon I'll be hard pressed to get any warranty joy from our local stealer, but if you don't ask you don't get I suppose. Although I think the Australian warranty states that rattles are only covered in the first 12 months.

AndrewH stumbled across a possible solution to my rattling window the other day when reading his Bentley Manual. There is a section in the manual that talks about correct window alignment. According to the manual my windows were slightly out and so I adjusted them accordingly, using the two bolts at the bottom of the door (ie. they face the ground) and this has proved to be moderately succesful in that the rattling is still there, but it is much less than it once was.
