We passed up the opportunity to buy the extended warranty that covered loaners during repair. This fact was thrown in our faces 2 days after purchase when we were towed back, but we mentioned that the alternative would be to keep their car...so they covered a rental at Enterprise. The only reason they covered the next one (the same day!) is because they hadn't given the car back to Enterprise yet!
After reading posts, we wonder if we shouldn't just buy the extra warranty and know we'll never have to fight for this again. We do travel out of state and shudder to think of the mess we would be in if we broke down during vacation and needed a month long repair! Any advice out there?
And a note to BMW, since I know you're watching:
You knew what you were doing when you left out the loaner coverage! Shame on you! If you read these posts, you'll see that we're a bunch of infatuated fools willing to do whatever it takes to enjoy the ride. Your reputation rests on keeping us happy; the Mini (and all your fancy dealerships) would go down in flames if enough people decided to bail out instead of waiting forever for problems to be sorted out. If we are willing to help you sort out your teething problems, the least you could do is add loaner coverage to at least the first year of ownership.
