Hi all! I've a 2003 Cooper that is doin' strange things - occasionally when the car is cold and setting off it seems to lose power. It takes off in 1st fine but on hitting 2nd gear seems to lose power (the accelerator is down but little happening!) Iafter a few seconds the power kicks back in! It reminds me of my old 1990 fiesta when I didn;t pull out the choke!! After a few minutes driving - my mini goes back to it's usual nippy self! Does anyone ever experience this - any suggestions! Don't tell me too much bad news!!
Thanks Ian
I live in Chicago and happens all the time during winter.
I try my best to let it warm up, which would remedy the problem, but sometimes, I just can't wait and it does happen.
It is almost as if the air is not getting sucked into the engine for a brief moment, right???
Once, when it was like -15 Farhenheit, it chocked and stalled.
I woluld definitely, like to find out what causes that...
