DSC and Service Engine Soon lights are o

Toggle switch for DSC not responding, DSC stays off with warning light on.
Stumbling at idle, stalled a couple of times, runs at speed and accelerates fine.
I had to heel and toe it to keep it running in stop and go traffic.
This just started this morning, has anyone experienced these same symptoms?
What was the fix?

a friend of mine had that problem. Not too sure if it will be the same fault but they had a boost pressure sensor that failed... new one fitted - Fault solved!
Call the MINI Assistance if its still within warranty & it'll get sorted
Hope its running better soon

bubblegoose, If your friend is on this forum please have he/she post their experience and symptoms.

Hello mate, that friend would be me

symptoms were pretty much what you have described above.

Car wanting to stall at idle, warning lights but also the car did not like to be held at constant revs, it would start to miss and stutter.

diagnosed as the boost sensor, this was changed now all is fine.

hope this is of some help

Ste

Windy Miller, thanks for that confirmation. I guess I'll leave it to the Dealership to fix, still have Warranty.
I just like to do my own research on the forums, we have a quite a bit more depth of experience here than any one Dealership Tech.

Thanks to Advance Auto Parts I have a code

Vehicle Scanned
Global OBD11
Vehicle
DTC (CODES)
P0108
MAP/BARD
Circuit High Input

Their scanner would let me clear the Service Engine Soon light but would not clear the DSC disabled lamp. Toggle switch still won't toggle DSC on/off.
Engine still trying to stall at idle, I can see that it is running real rich by looking at the exhaust tips, almost wet with fuel at idle.

Update and thanks for your input

I contacted a fellow that had the exact same problem and it took awhile to figure out.
In his words;
"Map sensors - all of them!"
"Dealer replaced them (twice) and reset the ecu.
car just lost its mind.
Would not communicate with the throttle body."
"It took a BMW field engineer to do a diagnostic the second time around after the mechanics failed by just replacing one sensor at a time and testing to (me) see if that fixed it."
"They had a BMW field engineer put it on their gt1 diagnosis machine.
They replaced all the sensors t-map, map, steering wheel angle and reset the ecu.
"
I put the MINI in the shop this morning, still in warranty but not out of the woods yet.
I am going to share with them what was discovered with the other MINI with these exact same symptoms.
I think we have on the forum a great potential for a knowledge base with our combined trouble experiences to create such a knowledge base. The only problem here is a naming convention for indexing and easy retrieval. The search function suffers because symptoms aren't categorized as problems are reported.
Oh yeah, they gave me an 06 MCSC 6 speed as a loaner, it was sunny and 74 degrees here today..........top down…..sweet
PS They called and said still diagnosing problem.

Update and thanks for your input

MINI fixed:thumbsup:
Tech replaced both MAP sensors. He said that during diagnostics the CAN (Controller Area Network) BUS would not communicate with the ABS. There weren't any visuals or other indications form the ABS that it was in trouble that I could tell. Now I'm not sure what the relationship is with the ABS disabling the DSC but that was the case.
As soon as the MAP sensors were replaced trouble cleared. He did not have to reset the ECU. He also took it out for a thorough test drive, used about 1/2 a tank of fuel. I mentioned that and that I was glad he did the testing. He then replaced the fuel from their supply.
This just happened to be MINI Night out #4 hosted by the dealership. All the Techs were there giving Technical demonstrations in the shop area so I got to meet him and debrief about the problem.
MINI is running strong
