Do I have a problem? (A-pillar trim)

I recently had the windscreen replaced; doing so required fitment of two new pieces of trim at the top of the A-pillars. The driver's side one is ill-fitting so I'm now a little concerned about water ingress into the cabin or poor drainage that might result in corrosion. Is this a real concern that will require fixing, or is it a cosmetic-only issue?

Here's a pic of the piece in question (not my car - I picked one with a white roof for better contrast).

that trim is cosmetic only, it doesn't seal anything

Actually I think there should be a sealing foil inside that plastic cover that keeps the water away from the holes in the frame. The foil appeared from 2003 or so...

I'd be suprised if they replaced those pieces because (in 2005 at least) those pieces are an integral part of the trim that runs all the way along the side of the roof. They have a plastic push-in clip in the middle and are attached to the (4 foot?) strip permanently but are flexible enough to bend outwards to get the A-pillar cover off.

Here in the states the replacement is $60.

I know all this because the guy broke one of mine when he was putting the new windscreen in.

So those last two posts confuse me somewhat. Should I now be worried?

Hi. Poor replacement of the outer A post finishers can indeed lead to water ingress into the cabin, although later designs have minimised the possibility.
In extreme cases this can lead to water ingress into the body conrol unit situated inside the car..
Assuming the finishers used as replacement are of a later design you should have no problems, although there has been an intermediate replacement design, now obsolete, which did not work.
I have done posts on the subject before, albeit from the day of the original design but pls feel free to dig them up.
