Remote door unlocking problem Hi all, I've had a good search through here, but can't find anyone with the same problem as me. Last week, i moved the car out of my drive with the spare key (no remote blipper on it), so I put it in the door lock to unlock the car. From then on, when I use the remote blipper, the drivers door won't unlock, and I have to do it manually. However, it will lock when I press the blipper to close it. I think that unlocking the door manually may just be a coincidence, and that hasn't caused it - but what is it likely to be? I'm outside warranty, so will be doing repairs myself, so the cheaper the better ![]() Any ideas? Matt

Already tried both of those, unfortunately to no avail. I wonder if it is just the rod in the door is loose or misaligned. Its odd that it will close but not open? Almost like it doesn't have enough "push" to raise the pin? Matt

Humm, mine gets stranger. The door locks fine from the remote blipper, but won't unlock or lock from the switch on the dashboard! Looks like I will be dismantling the car at the weekend :-S Matt

Unfortunately not - it was raining pretty heavily all weekend, so I decided to keep warm and dry. Ill give it a shot this weekend, and will report back anything I find ![]() Matt

Oooohhh, I'll be following this thread with great interest. For the past couple of weeks, the passenger door on my '03 MC CVT has refused to lock OR unlock with the key or toggle switch inside. Another interesting thing is that I've always had the locking once the car gets up to speed turned off, but it randomly has started locking every now and then. I think I've got some electrical gremlins... '03 Cooper PS/B with sport, premium packages, xenons, CVT, red leather interior

Yep, that seems to be the issue here. I took the door card off and had a good hunt around. I think the problem is an electrical gremlin - the control box in the door (behind the door handle) should be receiving the correct signal to open the doors as it does to lock the doors. This theory is compounded by the fact that the toggle switch doesn't work - this should be sending the same signals too I think. So, in summary, I think it is electrical. I tried to take the control box out of the door yesterday, but it was too well attached for me to do it. I will give it another go at the weekend, but I'm not hopeful of finding any fixes out. Anyone replaced their door control box (actuator?)? Matt
