Choppy ride

Was wondering what i could do to help reduce the 'choppy' ride that my mini has right know. I dont mind feeling the bumps but i seem to hit a bump then the car springs back. My Mini is a 2001 Mini Cooper with chili pack so likely to have SS+ only done 28k miles so dampers shouldnt be shot.

Well I think a better explanation of choppy ride is needed. If you mean it feels hard then
go to a smaller wheel (e.g. 16 instead of 17) and/or dump those runflats. When you hit
a bump or pothole the tyre absorbs more of the impact leaving the springs/dampers with
less to do. Alternatively Koni FSD dampers do a similar job but are stiffer when turning
into a corner or stopping bounce.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

How long have you had the car because the suspension was re designed very early on because of complaints about a harsh ride.

Obviously if you have had the car then this is Irrelevant.

RIght, ive had the car since september its a 51 reg. Im running 16" mini wheels with runflats, it corners fine, they seem to have started a road resurfacing scheme in Dorset, the roads arent good at the best of times it just seems on the bigger 'wallows' the car jurks back up after the bump. There are also smaller bumps when approaching a junction and it just feels really rough. Ive heard about KONI fsd's apparently they wont fit my car as its too early a model. Also read about JCW suspension improving ride/handling dont know if that would be an option either...

I'd have thought that upgrading shocks/springs to JCW or another 3rd party may have actually made things worse as they tend to be tuned for performance on the track. Just something simple to check - are you sure your tyre pressures are not too high, if you last checked them during the cool weather, they may be over-inflated in our current hot spell?
