Aircon? water patch and tube ? *pic*

I'm pretty sure this is normal, hopeing really
Last few days i've noticed small puddles of water under my car, underneath the center of the dash area. I searched on the forum here and im 99% sure its just water from the aircon, which I believe is normal. But today, I put the aircon on and then looked underneath and noticed a tube and litterally a stream of water came out, bit like a cold water dispenser It only lasted 2-3 seconds but it didn't seem right. Could it be just flushing out what water has melted? condensed etc from the day before? Is my mini releaving itself?

Does anyone else have this tube? You can see it more or less in line with the centre dash underneath.

Thanks

Haven't looked under mine, but would think it would be to ensure that the condensed water from the aircon is safely dropped under the car, not splashed around when on the move. I think you're pretty safe to assume it's the aircon bleeding off any water that may have built up on the condenser since it was las turned off (the condenser will stay colder than surrounding air for a little while until it warms up to ambient temp., once car has been turned off)

This is fine and what you suspect it is.

If I pop out in my MINI and then return a little later I can actually see a little puddle under my car and then a little trail of water where I've pulled away. It is surprising how much moisture condenses.

It would be nice if the water was reused in some way rather than dumped on the ground though.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Phew thanks for confirming

As for reusing the water, a nice dispenser on the dashboard would be quite nice
