Seat reclining problem

I have a problem with the drivers seat in my January 2002 mini cooper.

If you recline the seat to lie back and relax, you sometimes have a VERY hard time getting it back up.

Also if you have reclined it a little and put it back up, the forward release mechanism gets jammed and it is hard to get the passengers out from the back!

Anyone else found that?

This is one of the most discussed, how can I put it... 'issues' with the new MINI interior!

Try searching for 'seat mechanism' or 'seat jammed' using the 'search' button up above.

You'll learn you're far from the only one. Whether that will make you feel better for knowing your not alone, or more frustrated at the design, depends on your outlook I guess!

If you have such problems with your seat, I suggest that you get in touch with your deal and say to them you have mechanical problems with the seat, they should replace it! Apparantly there has been some manufacturing faults. They don't seem to advertise these problems, it up to the owner to complain about it then the fix it!
