It's the foam that is the important bit, without it they will just keep ripping off.

Here's the link to realoem with the original part numbers and the new improved part numbers that stop the air getting under the A pillar trim.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...75&hg=51&fg=20

Part number 20 is the old part, 21 is the new part. There are plenty of threads on MINI2 about it.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Thanks, great info! The parts department said I'll need the cover and foam underneath, will i need to replace the green plastic bits in the pic?

Well i went and got it, wasn't exactly fun or easy, only because of what the autoglass fitter had left underneath.

At the bottom of the windscreen sticking out to the side where the foam is meant to slot in was about 3 cm's of excess sealent, I had to cut as much off as possible with a knife and then trim some of the new foam down just for it to fit.

I had to cut out the green clippy things as there a 1 way fit and couldn't work out how to get on to the inside of the a pillar. Hour later and all sorted though, did a quick speed run and it didn't fly off so fingers crossed it stays that way. Thanks for the help people
