Unfortunately only the dealer can re-set it

Have they looked at the cause of why it keeps coming on
I'm assuming as you mention paying for the re-set you're out of warranty

How old is your car Sarah? My car is a February 2002 build, and lots of Mini's around that age have problems with the Airbag wiring looms in the seats. The problem was so bad that BMW USA extended the warranty on these items to 10 years. No such luck in the UK though. I've tried complaining, but BMW won't do anything about it until I pay them to inspect it to find the cause.

If enough of us complain, maybe they will change their minds?

Matt

This happened on my Wifes Cooper only built in June 06 and it going back having the ECU faults codes reset until they found out that it needed a new passenger airbag, I would suggest that you get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

i have a feb 2002 ONE and today was hoovering my car and i think i nudged one of the things under the seat, since then i have the airbag light on and my local BMW garage dont have space til friday to look at it.
Does anyone know how much BMW charge to ckeck it? they said about £110 to change the wiring loom bit under the seat.
Thanks

£30 to do a diognostic test as for the wiring loom I would argue as it is a design fault and reading that mini in america are extending the warranty on airbags and components thats says to me Mini are admitting problems.............

My feb 2002 cooper had its air bag wiring loom replaced last month. Lucky enough it happened a week before the warranty ran out. I saw the warranty receipt that the dealer was sending of to bmw and it was for £146! It must be a common problem because they had the part in stock.
