Rough Idle (MOD)

My mum has a November 03 MOD, 27k miles. For as long as she's had the car (since new) whenever she starts it up when its warm. ie stop for paper, then come back out to car. its really rough on idle, like its stuck about 650rpm. sometimes it picks up if you give it throttle, and other times it just stalls.

We've had it at the dealers numerous times, and they've changed filter and fuel pumps, but this hasnt helped..

Any ideas?

at 650rpm is rather low, it should be around 850 to 900rpm. Suggest you send to dealer for fine tunning.

Thanks for your help but I dont think this is the same problem!

Its only when we start the car up (when warm) and for about 5-10 seconds, the idle is rough. It either then picks up and is fine, or it stalls.

Anyone?

Hi Bryce, get your dealer to check the fault memories and make sure there are no faults with the engine camshaft sensor.Must be honest I was running one and the idle on startup is quite poor-usually takes a few seconds to make its mind up whether to go or not!!

My 06 MCC does this too! The dealership said they reset the memory to the factory settings to let the car learn again

In English they haven't got a bloody clue as per so they fob you off with some excuse that does 't fix anything!

hi folks, i might be having the same problem. thought it was my pupils not turning the key for long enough. it starts but dies after ticking over. mines a 55 mc. have had it happen to me but put it down to not paying attention to what i was doing, will keep an eye on it and report back. have already rejected the car but im having no end of trouble with my dealer.
