imy mini dashboard keeps displaying a yellow abs light and a yellow run flat light together then thewy go off if i switch of the engine and restart it can any one help me please
No expert but faulty abs sensor would be my guess, the runflat system works off the ABS sensor so that would explain why both lights are on. Get it checked out by a dealer.
That's what mine was also....faulty ABS sensor.
The dealer can fetch the error code in the ABS system to see which sensor it is,
(it doesn't show up on an OBDII code reader),
unless it's something else like the ABS controller (less likely).
my problem on 51 Cooper has been the Run Flat indicator light came on after stopping the car and restarting the light went out. Pumped the tyres up and reset the Run Flat switch and the light remains on.
Seems it's a electonic problem (E Prom corrupt !!) looking at about £1000 to fix so not best pleased.
i took it to the dealer and they claimed it was a puncture however i had a new tyre and it still does it so they obviosly lied its goin back in next week so ill give you an update then thanks for all your help
So they tried to fob you off saying it was a puncture, did they check the abs sensors? The new tyre will have cost you, will they be refunding that? What happens if they replace the ECU at £1000 and it's not that? Would like to say that they did check the sensors before selling you a tyre but you haven't said so, and with some of the horror stories about dealers on here. Get a second opinion! As minicabrio says this is a reasonably common fault.
Today my ASC and ABS lights came on along with the tyre flat indicator. I checked all the preasures and they were fine. And the Traction control and ABS are definately not working. ANy idea's? Would this just be a sensor? Or is the ECU stuffed?
