Help needed - Engine Gubbed due to water intake I recently travelled home in torrential rain, when the engine stopped. I have been told by BMW I am not covered by warranty and that I need a new engine. Has anyone out there ever experienced the same problem. Oh and just for your info Ive only had the car just over a week (53 plate)

Just moved this to our "faults and fixes" forum for you. There have been reports of MINIs being drowned in puddles etc, until you get a direct response I suggest you search (http://www.mini2.com/forum/search.php) the faults and fixes forum for things like water flooding etc.

It was more excess surface water than a puddle, I have just joined this site and have started to look through other threats and it looks as though I may have to fork out on a new engine, just what I need before xmas and after buying it last week. Thanks for taking the time out to reply Kirsten.
