Unhappy Not sure yet...

I had the ecu mod done and at first it seemed to work, but now I still feel the idle issue, but now only if I am in gear and have the clutch in. Before it was any time, clutch in or out AND in neutral.

Mine pulls to the right as well, but I just assumed that it was a balance issue. It sounds like the fix doesn't fix much.

I had squeaks too, but I hit the pieces hard enough that they are too afriad to squeak any more.

My turn indicator switch is so loose that each time I turn and have my headlights on, I flash someone with my high beams.

AND my windows still roll up before the door is closed and causes a bad seal and possibly someday a broken window.

I love this car, but so many problems...it might be a BMW, but it is definately built by the British, substandard work just like the place I work.

Out!

cooper with CVT

3850 miles since May 2002

Idle problems, stalling problems, squeaking seats, uneven idle at stop, poor acceleration under 2000 rpms.

23 days in service

Chip reprogrammed once

Adaptive memory erased twice

Throttle control valve replaced once

Seats still aqueak, car has only stalled once since last service (about 500 miles). Time will tell.

Car is like a pretty wife... SO SWEET and CUTE, makes all the other stuff inconsequential!

2600 miles / 3 months. Could have driven more but wife, 6 month old kid, and carseat do not fit in the car together.

Side marker light fell out. Put back in myself after adjusting gromit.

CVT shift boot came loose. Will take into dealer later (2 1/2 hour drive).

The a/c seems to be a bit weak. Even when it is only 85f on the temp gauge, I can't seem to get the car cold. I can get the car comfy even in 100f temperatures, so it is not what I would call a problem, but I will have the dealership check it out.

Today. DSC and tire light came on and wouldn't go off. Continued on to work. At lunch lights were still on, but went out after about 1 minute. I think that it was due to the heavy/heavy rain that happened last night.

No squeaks. Very little idle variation. A little stumbling at takeoff at times (I now tend to use SD mode when wanting to take off faster or if it is uphill).

Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman.

Stumble ?

What's the word on astumble, almost stalling, especially when cold,
between 1200 rpm and 3000 rpm ?

I search for stumble, but find only MCS/software36 issues;
I want to know the Cooper (on-S) stumble issues and fix.

The roof paint just above the rear hatchback hinge was "overlooked" by the painting bots and the primer coat (pepper white) was still showing through. Dealer sent the car to the paint shop and they resprayed the rear, but they badly scratched the rest of the roof when they cleaned it up. We finally have gotten it all repaired.

2300, no probs to speak of save for the occasional squeaky, creaky dash,...comes and goes depending on the temp I think. From down tubes centre console, bottom left hand corner of windscreen.

A super car, every thing I want, apart from the fact that it is not an S or a JCW!

Stumble

Stumble is still there, so I went and bought a S and now it is gone Seriously....it only happens to the car when I come out of hard acceleration to a stop, which is almost every light. I am just putting up with it because every new ECU upgrade causes new problems. Plus, I am selling the Cooper to get the S...no kidding. Love the car, but mine is cursed

Talking love it

4500 miles, only one loose battery ground. Other than that, no problems.
Love the car
