handbrake light on and off anyone help?

I have a June 2003 mini one

i have a problem with the hand brake light

every time i go out in the car the handbrkae light comes on after about 5 mins of driving for a few mins then goes off. rarely comes back on tho

i thought it might be the switch but i have removed it and insulated the wire that might earth on the body. but it still happends

BC1 is bone dry checked inside loom ad foam arround it all bone dry

i cant think what it might be, im thinking a bad earth but how? nothing has been touched really and surely id get more of a flicker?

anyone shed some light on this please?

also my asc+T LIGHT CAME ON and stayed on could not switch it off but only happ 2wice, prob due to handbrake light obeing on?

Low brake fluid? I think that low brake fluid lights the same light.

The on and off behaviour may come from pad and fluid expansion with temperature.
