Unhappy Rattles in New MCS

Hey, i just recently purchased a Brand New 06 Mini Cooper S Chilli for my First car ever , now it runs perfect on normal highways and city driving, but yesterday i noticed with the Sound system off as soon as i get on the back roads near my house i get quite a noisy rattle coming from the drivers side door it seems, any ideas ? also i noticed with my Harmon Kardon sound system the Rear Left passenger speaker has a slight rattle, but if i put my hand on the edge of the speaker cover it goes away, any ideas ?
I dont want have have to take it back 2 weeks from rolling it out of the dealership
Cheers
Pnut

You'll have to take it back ...or just get your hands dirty and tweek up the nuts and bolts and screws yourself. Its pretty common on the MINI especially on poor surfaced roads as they have quite stiff suspension so even the slightest loose bit and it works even looser due to the vibration through the car. My from factory Cooper had to go back for dash and door rattles twice before it was sorted...usually a bit of felt tape and some better adhesives and some proper torquing of screws soon sorts it. Its a pain but something that the dealers tend to be pretty happy to fix on new cars.

Possibly the seat belt? Mine does this as well. Try clipping it in and then driving to see if your rattle goes away.

I've had loads of rattles in mine. Plastic pillar (to left of passenger seat, under seat belt) was not fixed in. That made a rattle. Left rear speaker of Harmon Kardon was rattling as well. Take it back, complete pain, but its under warranty.

Make sure that you don't have anything in the door that is rattling as well. It could be kind of embarrassing when they pull out an umbrella or something and say "I found the source!".

If there's anything in the cubbyhole on the driver's side of the dash, this can make a noise as if there's a rattle from the door (been there done that...)
