Electric Window Problem

Hey everyone!

Just had the drivers electric window fail on my car (2006 MINI One, 2500 miles) I checked the fuse and its fine, when pressing the switch there is a clicking from the dash (relay?) but the window wont budge - Luckily its in the up position. Any ideas?? - my guess - jammed window mechanism. Phoning up Rybrook tommorw to book an appointment. Not a happy chap at the moment

Give it a couple of solid whops right above the speaker and that cures the problem,i did'nt believe it and at first ,but it does you have to clobber it good.

Don't hit it. Take it to your dealer - it's likely to be a motor failure. I had mine changed "no charge".

I read about the "hitting the door panel" fix on this forum and it worked for me as a temp fix. My car was out of warranty so the motor replacement cost me but as yours is inside, should be no problem,

Do as i say and give it a good wallop above the speaker,i have the new window motor still sitting in the box and this is 3 months down the road.Unless you are under warranty, then by all means have them install a new one.

I had this problem too and also read on here that if you hold the button up for about 10 seconds it might reset a position error. Worked for me.

Shoot.. just tried the wallop, and it didnt work for me. Three ladies outside my office for a smoke were certainly looking at me strangely!! Oh well.. time to place a call to my dealer.

Perhaps some anger management classes would help....

Couldn't resist. The wallop method does work but it is only a temp solution for a bad motor.

It is possible that you found a flat spot on the motor. It is possible that you will never need that motor unless it stops on that spot again.
