1st post and 1st problem

Hello all,

Just discovered this forum after researching into power steering problems with with minis. My fiance has March 03 Mini cooper and over the past week the power steering has been playing up. I hardly drive the car appart to and from the shops etc. Over the past week whilst she has been away i was shocked whilst driving that the power steering decided to get heavey ever so ofetn and then completely gone. I got hom late and next day i started the car and it was fine. Ran to the shops as normal and back with no problems. What i have realised is that on any journey over 10mins the power steering decides to give up. I have checke the fluid and it is sitting just below the min mark on the dipstick but i cant see that causing complete shutdown......
Are the failures everyone else gets teminal or symptoms more like mine???

There have been a load of power steering pump fails, do a search and you will find the threads
