DIY my first major problem

I have a 03 MCS with 50k. No probs till tonight.
I was driving home, when I noticed the dsc light go on. I flicked the switch, but it remained on. At the red light I thought I would turn the car off then back on. Turn it off, but the car refused to restart. Just a clicking noise. The starter wasn't working. Clock goes dead. Turn on the hazards and push the car onto a sidestreet. Try again, no luck. Pop the hood, and give a mild back onto the supercharger. Close the hood. Try again, and it starts. Drive about 2 km back home, all the while the electrical system is going wonky. First the clock goes, then the abs light goes, then the check engine light, then the ACC goes, then the CD player, and then just as I pulling into the driveway, the steering pump goes; hard to turn without.
Tomorrow, will get towed to my local mini dealer for service.
Anybody else experience this?
Let me know before I go in the morning.

Sounds like you have a dead battery and it needs to be replaced. I would try this before you spend lots of money on a dealer.

A battery can regain some charge by just sitting and it might have been enough when you pushed it off the road.
