Clutch Pin Fix??

Hi all

Had a visit to my dealer over the weekend for paint stick and was pointed out to me that the car needed work done on the cluch pin or something like that?

I hadn't been notified of this so take it the work needed to be done is not urgent.

Anyone had this done and what is the problem? They say it will take around an hour to complete.

Cheers

CLUTCH

AFTER ONLY 2500 MILES THE CLUTCH AND MY AUG 2001 BUILD COOPERBEGAN TO SLIP BADLY. IT WAS THEN REPAIRED BY THE DEALER WHO CLAIMED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS TOTALLY BURNT OUT DUE TO MY DRIVING. THIS WAS UNLIKELY AS I NORMALLY DO JOURNES THAT REQUIRE MINIMAL USE OF THE CLUTCH.
HOWEVER I THEN HEEARD FROM A FRIEND OF MY FATHER THAT WORKS AT ANOTHER BMW DEALERS THAT IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT SOME CARS HAD CLUTCH PINS THAT WERE SLIGHTLY TOO LONG AND THAT THIS CAUSED THE CLUTCH TO WEAR PREMATURELEY.

great car crappy dealers
