my boot keeps opening!!

Hi,
I have only started having this problem today, but whenever I turn off the ignition my boot opens Is this some sort of special setting I have accidentally activated? I haven't done anything unusual with my car except try to put on some viper stripes (which i gave up on after about 7cm).
Any help on stopping this happening would be great.

are your lights on when this happens

if so its a short in the boot opening mech requires a new boot handel

have the car running with the lights on and turn them off that will answer that

hmm sounds like it could be this as i did have the lights on and when I just went to check it it didn't do it with the lights off. Thanks for the help.

p.s I assume this would be covered by warantee as I have only done 5000 miles?

take it in get it sorted mine was done under warantie

The exact same thing happened to me recently - dealer replaced boot handle (inc chrome bit) - all under warranty, no problems at all. They said water had got in - not sure how!!

well my car was coated in about an inch of mud on the back so I suppose that is to blame
