New Windscreen - Remote central locking stopped working!

Hi all,

On Monday I had a new windscreen put on the car (its a heated one). I wasn't around when they did the work and the car has been used until today (Friday) when my girlfriend when to take it out for a spin to the shops. Anyway she just rang me to tell me the remote central locking (using the key) wasnt working and she had to the use the door lock to get in.

I'm at work at the mo so havent had a chance to look at it but does anybody have any ideas on what it might be? Seems a bit of a coindience that it stops working after the new windscreen has been put in.

Ive rung Autoglass who have logged the complaint and will call me back but if anybody has any ideas to save me from a lot of huffing and puffing that would be great!

PS -could it be the battery in the key or is this rechargable from the ignition?

My central locking has kind of packed up?? The passenger door doesn't open with the remote or button the the dash, you've gotta manually release the door catch. It does lock with the remote but not the dashboard button?? The lock is defo working because you can hear it opening and closing just seems to be the button stoppin it???

Any thoughts . . . . other than let the main dealer take my eyes out!!

Does the windscreen they fitted have the MINI logo in the corner?

Hi - i've got the same issue as Graeme - any ideas on how to fix this issue? The car manual is of little use.

Also - is there a preference over using Mer products over Autoglym?
