Velvet Cooper Window washer not working !

Hi everyone,

My MINI-S 2005 is having a problem with window washer system. It won't ejaculate window washer fluid when outside temperature goes down below 32F. As soon as it reaches at 33F, boom, it works!!

I brought my MINI to Mark @ HC. He flushed out the whole system and exchanged the fluid with MINI certified window washer fluid concentrate without diluting it. But my MINI still has the problem. Has any of you come across similar problems as mine?? Please help!!

This happened to me (twice). It only seemed to happen in Vermont though, so were you in Vermont when it happened?

same happened to me

The same problem happened to me, but only in the front windshield, it started just with cold temperatures, but then it stopped working at all, so I had it replaced for around 110 us dls at the dealer, not much trouble, and worked great since....

Honestly I didn't do anything. I really think that it was just Vermont. The back window never gave me any problem. When it happened it was about 5° dipping down to 0°. The next day (back in New Hampshire) it worked fine. The second time once we got to Mass it worked. I'm convinced it is just Vermont for me.

Mine is actually both front and the back... pretty bad, huh? So I guess that's what they have to do, replacing the whole unit. My MINI is currently being examined at the HC for the 2nd time. Thanks guys for the useful information!!

You know annoying the Cooper windshield washer are? When you try to clean the windshield it quirts a tinny stream of water. Well, I fixed that with my wife's Cooper S. I simply replaced it with a 1994 Chevy S10 windshield washer nozzle. O boy, now it sprays the water onto the enter windshield. Further, the nozzle itself looks perfect (aesthetically) together with the mini.

Hi,

the same motor is used for both the front and rear washers, the polarity is changed to change direction of water flow and non return valves are used to prevent both windows being washed at the same time.

I would guess if neither front or rear screen wash work then the motor is possibly faulty. If one or the other works then you probably have a blockage in the system or weak motor.

You need to run colder temperature fluid. It sounds like yours is freezing in your lines.
