Any advice? Can you buy spray on "grease" as a more long term fix?

Try leaving a mouse trap with chocolate on, they love chocolate, near to were the squeaking comes from. If the chocolates there in the morning and the squeaks back try cheese.

Mice love chocolate?

Is that a bit like how Father Christmas in my house drinks beer and not whiskey? "That's it, leave a bar of Toblerone out and I'm SURE we'll catch the mouse"........ (next morning).... "clever mouse, he ate the chocolate WITHOUT setting off the trap! Tonight we'll try some Lindt"..

Trouble with WD40 is evaporates pretty quickly. Try a spray like GT85 which has teflon in it ............. works for me.

I have had the squeaky seat problem in each of my 4 mini's, problem is, when you get in this great little car, you like race mode, seat as low as it can go.

This is where the problem lies I think, if you have this problem, try raising it slightly, this cured it for me.

I wouldnt suggest removing the seats cos the airbag illumination will present itself.

Has had too many minis

Got some spray lubricant/PTFE combination the other day. Sprayed away merrily and all seems well so far.

Amazing what a difference to the feel it makes having/not having a squeaking seat!

Mine also is squeeking, but its not so much the actual seat, its more of the leather on the seat creaking?

On the minis you have like a plastic case inwhich the seat sits in? (best way to describe it) the leather on mine has just started creaking.

I aint got a clue what to do, its only a certain part of the cushion/leather on the drivers seat?

its as if the leather is rubbin on the plastic?

I have the squeaking problem also, It just seems to come inside the seat itself so I havent really given any effort to fixing it.

Maybe I should try to find where to add some spray...

I used the WD40 like "straw attachment" to get into the hard to reach places.

This thread has made me notice mine doing it now. I didn't notice it before as my last car was a classic mini and had cobra bucket seats which sqeak like mad; therefore I just accepted it as a characteristic...not gonna do anything about it though as now i'd probably miss it...HAHA..I see it as a feature from the classic mini that MINI integrated into the R50. Its just a MINI thing...

Yes, that fantastic item which you use once, detach from the can and then can never find again

Dealer cured by squeaking seat yesterday by smearing some pink goo on the frame.

Did you specify the colour or is it all like that

Paul, Stu

Can you advise me where to buy the dry PTFE spray? I undrstand Paul you bought it from Halfords but I have phoned and they have told me they dont stock a dry spray. They have a 3 in 1 lubricant which contains PTFE (and proibably silicone) but they said it is oily and not dry. Iv tried various other spares shops Think buying online might be my best bet but would prefer to just grab the spray while i have some free time today if I can.

Any help appreciated

Dan
