It's the 3-in-1 lubricant spray I used, and it's done the trick so far. I believe most car dealers will be able to get hold of a can of the "proper stuff" though.

Can you advise me where to buy the dry PTFE spray? I undrstand Paul you bought it from Halfords but I have phoned and they have told me they dont stock a dry spray. They have a 3 in 1 lubricant which contains PTFE (and proibably silicone) but they said it is oily and not dry. Iv tried various other spares shops Think buying online might be my best bet but would prefer to just grab the spray while i have some free time today if I can.

Any help appreciated

Dan

Dan,
If you look at the pic I posted earlier in the thread and look at the properties of the pic it'll show you the website of the company that sells that particular brand. You can get PTFE silicon lubricant from any decent motor accessories or hardware store though.

Its Axminster Power Tool Centre : Power Tools to your door, then search for PTFE, that should find it, they do mail order

I did a search for PTFE here in the U.S. but all the websites that sell the stuff point to the UK... any ideas if its called something else in the U.S.?

Thanks

For anyone else with this problem - i ended up buying some 3 in 1 silicone spray and it worked a treat. i was generous with the nozzle under the seat, all over the railings and it seems to have done the trick!

Got to be honest.... I went with some VERY carefully applied WD-40 Did the trick!
