The Batmobile is dead :(
I was driving home last night on the motorway when I noticed the ASC and Engine Warning lights had come on.
After coming off the motorway it was obvious the car had gone into limp home mode.
Gave the car a quick checkover this morning and have discovered one of the plugs is cracked and a bit oily.
Suspect it may have run lean and I've knackered one of the valves and possibly the head too.
Looking under the bonnet what order are the cylinders in left to right? 1, 2, 3, 4 or 4, 3, 2, 1?
It is the second in from the left that is at fault.
Going to phone the dealer now to get it booked in. Too bad there's no MINI specialists nearby
It was acceptable in the 80's

Sorry to hear this.
What conversion do you have? Do you think this is a result of modifying?
Tom.

All the 200 bhp conversions are basically the same, Hartge/BBR/GTT/GGR/
JCW /Digitect/etc etc so that shouldnt put anyone off any particular brand of conversion
Just bad luck at the end of the day.....

Hi, yes it's the Hartge car. However it has been tuned over and above the standard Hartge and remapped since.
Thanks for the post 1320Autos. I'm sure i'll be in touch.
BMW say there is no compression to cylinder 2 (this answers my previous question that the cylinders are 1, 2, 3, 4 from left to right as you look at it).
They want £730 + VAT just to take the head off and have a look
Very tired at the
mo ' as I've been helping my fiancees parents move today. So I'll get back to everybody when I'm feeling more with it
It was acceptable in the 80's
