Not Happy

I wwas all ready to go pick up my little LuLu yesterday, when I received a call from the dealership to tell me that there was a problem with the roof - well, yes we were both aware of that when I came to look at it TEN days ago, so why was nothing done then?! The problem when I came over to see it, was when closing the roof, it didnt click into place correctly, and you had to push it down, which I felt I could live with, for a couple of days until Easter was over and we could get it in the workshop.

I arrive at the dealership to find the roof doesn't even open at all now so of course I'm fuming. The sales manager got involved, but was awfully rude and blaze about it all, and spoke to me in a 'get over it! its not like we aren't offering to do anything about' attitude. They've given me an R56 Cooper to use until mine is done - I want it by Thursday PM! They can't gurantee it

They are idiots. The tried to fob me off with some rubbish about PDI and AUC - you can't fob me off, any other customer who walks in the door, go ahead, but not me - I work in service for Mercedes Benz and previous to that I was in MINI service, so I know how PDI's and AUC's work seeings as I deal with them most of the day everyday So that didnt work

What seems pathetic is, I have owned that car for over a week (not collected tho) and been to the dealership a couple of times just to see if the car was about, just so I could have another look at it and it was off the forecourt, and not in the service department. Now this dealership stores vehicles on the roof of the service building, and both times I was over there I noticed a red convertible on the roof, but couldn't fully make out the reg (my last visit to the dealer was Saturday 31st March) When I went to collect mine yesterday, that red convertible was GONE and mine was on the forecourt - ME THINKS THE PDI WAS RUSHED THROUGH MONDAY hence why the roof was still knackered

Needless to say I complained about the attitude of the sales manager to the sales DIRECTOR and I'm awaiting a call from him to see where we can go with this.

NOT HAPPY!!

How annoying for you, it does sound like they've left your car till the last minute then rushed it through - I hope they get it sorted out quickly for you

I'm taking it up with the DP and have also sent a letter to Mini Customer services.

Hmm, since I'm guessing that PDI here doesn't refer to the "Peters et al Delusions Inventory", could you elaborate on what it and the AUC are?

PDI - Pre Delivery Inspection

AUC - Approved used car check

Its Specialist in Stevenage.
I have to say the salesman is fantastic, and busting his backside to help me, but its his manager, and the fact they didnt check the car correctly!

I had a feeling it would be them as soon as i read "they park their cars on the roof of the service building". They are the only ones i know round here that do.

Ive had both of my MINIs from them, one cherished, one new and they are (to me) a great dealership. I have never had any problems with sales or service, and i wouldnt go anywhere else! Everybody has always been so friendly and happy to help, and sort any problems.

Maybe if the roof doesnt open at all now (but it did before), it means they had looked at it, but maybe made the problem worse? (although still should be fixed) Well, whatever did or didnt happen, lets hope you'll have LuLu on your driveway soon

Give them hell! They obviously didnt do a very good job and should have a better attitude instead of the all too common stuck up manager who thinks he's just too amazing. But thats car sales i'm afraid.... Maybe the director will give him a kicking for it.

No offence, but 'giving them hell' and kicking up a huge stink, wont help anything or anyone! It would probably make matters worse.

If you were a salesman/manager and someone came in all guns blazing would you want to help them?! I know i wouldnt.

There's no harm in feeding back very poor service and bad customer satisfaction. I dont know what you thought I meant....but whats wrong with making a complaint?? In this case to the Director which has been done. Dealers seem to think all customers are totally stupid and will be fobbed off with the funniest excuses. Its not fun when the dealers cant do a decent job and damage your car when they are suppose to be fixing it as I have experienced.
