DIY CAT Gone

My CAT on my cooper started to go just after about 8500 miles and less than 11 months old
it hasnt gone completly, you can just hear a rattle coming from it, as though its braking up inside. Getting worse as i do more miles tho. ive now done just over 9100 miles.
Is this a "normal" thing? or happend to any one else before within about the same time frame?

Luckily its still covered by the warrenty to its not all bad.

Also, what will they replace, will it be the back end of the exhast or the whole lot? Sorry for the question if you think its "noobish" but dont know that much about what they do.

Also its going in for its first service on the same day, what will i be expecting when i get it back? Any ideas?

Thanks

Mess

I think you probably mean the baffles in the back box are rattling right?

The cat is attached to the end of the manifold up front.

It was acceptable in the 80's
