United-Kingdom yo-yoing, bypass valve, latest news pls

I know this has been posted about before but there dosen't seem to be a final answer?

A few questions for anybody interested esp Roland at Gt Tuning.

1) is there now an official bmw fix
2) can optimising the bypass valve cure it
3) can larger injectors/richer mixture help, perhaps JCW software
4) non-official ecu re-map ?

I have been on to the NAM website and read the yo-yoing chronicles which seemed to end with a BMW re-call campaign envolving an ecu update fixing the problem for most. There seems to be a software version 38 in this country but has this worked for everybody?

Thanks very much Roland, my car is out of Warranty now but i am going to try and get the latest software installed and see if that helps the annoying yo yo thing.

P.S. I hope you don't mind me directing that question at you, but you seem to be one of the most respected people out there in the mini tuning world.

Also I really want to have my bypass valve optimised, but live a bit to far away to justify at the moment. Perhaps i could bring the family down and have a day at the coast. Hope to see you soon.

Ref getting the update done: Anybody out there found a helpfull dealer in the Hertfordshire area?

What benefit does the optimised bypass valve have Roland?

United-Kingdom Interesting Bypass Valve News

I have just spoken to a workshop controller at a Mini Dealer. I have been told the latest recommended fix for yo yoing is to now replace the By Pass Valve with the latest version and then if necessary update the ecu, apparently the valve has been improved in the way it operates and on a Works car reduces the snap crackle pop you get on the overun.
Obviously reducing that particular noise is not going to please everybody.

Can anybody confirm this info?
