Drivers Side window not opening...

Hey, small problem with my driver window:

When you push the drivers side window switch it makes a clicking noise and the window wont open, any ideas what this could be?

Also, when i unlock the car sometimes it opens the windows slightly?

Thanks, Eddy. xxx

Yer same thing happened to me.
Do a search should be a few threads chatting about it.
I think its to do with the window motor flat spotting, so if you give the door a whack on the indide above the speaker it may turn over and start again, some people seem to dispute this but it worked for me, has been fine since, and that was over 6 months ago.
BMW will probarbly tell you you need a new motor, but they would wouldn't they. Take them up on it if it's under warranty.

Its gotta be worth a try.

Also try holding the switch in the up position for 10 seconds - has been known to reset things. The thump worked for me too until I had time for a warranty repair to be carried out.

I had this same problem a while back...
Had it fixed under warranty and it was the motor... it was working intimitatly.....well DUH I knew that... so yeh both of windows have now been repaired as when I first looked at my car it was away gettin' the passenger side window fixed and I had a test drive in it with the passenger side door inner panel not there... haha
It was a gr8 experience! Talk about seeing it in the RAW!

I had also tried hittin' the door panel just above the speaker but that didn't work for me...

If the world didn't suck we'd all fall off!
