Drivers Door Wont stay open! - MINI Cooper Forum

A few weeks ago both door hinges started to make terrible squeaking noises as they were opened and closed. It sounded bloody awful!!! So, being the wanna be mechanic i am not(!), i applied some "general lubricating oil"...voila....no more squeaking doors.....1 problem though....the drivers side door is now so lubricated, it wont stay open!! You open the door and it swings back and chops your leg off!!!!

Do i now need to take it to the muppets at BMW to sort out or can i sort myself????

Try squirting the hinges with some degreaser.

Sounds like the door might need to be adjusted.
