Remote Central Locking has Stopped Working

Hi all
For some reason my remote central locking has stopped working. Ive got an 02 ONE
Ive tried a few things to try and find the problem but no luck:
  • Tried the spare key
  • checked the fuse
  • disconnected the battery
  • started the engine
The central locking still works but you have to do it manually.

Any ideas on what could have gone wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks David

Well it stopped working outside my house. since then the alarm has gone off due to using the key to manually unlock the car, and the alarm not being disarmed, and ended up having to disconnect the battery and leave it till morning as the neighbours wont be impressed.

Any ideas on what will happen when i hook up the battery tomo and how to avoid the alarm going off tomo?

Thanks

All you need to do to stop the alarm going off is to unlock your car manually then put your key in the ignition and and switch it on the alarm shouldn't go off then.

OK, first of all. If you have the alarm fitted then to disarm it when unlocking manually you have to put the key in the ignition.

I suspect the alarm and remote have gone out of sync. If I remember correctly you have to put the key in the ignition, turn to position II and keep hitting the unlock button to resync. Try it about 10 times and see if you can lock the car with the remote.

If not it may be lock, unlock, lock , unlock about 10 times.

It was acceptable in the 80's
