Knocking noise from front on 05 cooper s 14k miles

Hi there,

I have a 2005 mini cooper s and im experiencing a knocking noise, sounds like someone hitting an empty plastic box as im going over bumps. (from the slightest bump to severe bumps) so pretty much does it constantly and it sounds to be coming from the front right of the car.

The car has done 14000 miles, on a 2005 05 plate. Also it is fitted with eibach springs and an M7 strut brace. My old cooper s (2004 04 with 30k miles) also had similar bits fitted and never had a problem!

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

Nick

Have you tried removing the empty plastic box Nick

Could it be an engine mount? any signs of any leakages anywhere?

Haha! i took the inner arches out lastnight and took the undertray off to eliminate those as possible causes of a rattle.

We think it could be an engine mount or faulty strut at the moment, but the noise is quiet (you cant hear it once you pick up a bit of speed) and its particulary loud if you drive over a gravel car park! :S

Had mine done under warranty in January, I bet you leave those bits off to make it lighter
