ASC+T warning light problem?

Hi all,

I've just picked up my first Mini, which I bought privately. It's a 2006 Park Lane with 5000 miles on the clock.

Apart from the usual stone chips it seems fine, but I'm not sure about the ASC+T warning light. When I switch on ASC+T the light stays on all the time. Shouldn't it only light up when it's called into action to make a correction?

Any advice would be welcome

Thanks to all who explained my mistake - Doh!
I've just moved up to a BMW MINI from a lifetime of classic Minis so all this technology is new to me...
...but what a car!

Don't know much about ASC+T as I don't have it on mine. ASC+T should always be on by default, with the light coming on as and when it kicks in. Are you sure you are not actually turning it off? And that the light is coming on constant to warn you that the system has been turned off. This is the norm in my previous cars. Check your manual.

Hope you're enjoying your new car and that it brings you endless smiles.

Yep , you are turning it off. Find some gravel and prove it to yourself.

As the others have said it is on by default. It is a warning light and thus is warning you that it is off. Or it will flash when it's working.

If it's on when you turn on the ignition then there is something wrong with it. Usually a faulty wheel sensor.

It was acceptable in the 80's
