JCW Brakes - small problem

Wonder if you can help me? i had JCW brakes fited a few months ago and they have been great lots of bite in them. I got my rear callipers painted on Monday and straight away i felt when touching the brake pedal nothing was happening, no way as much bite! whats happened to my brakes?? mate thinks pressure gone in them as the callipers and bit were taken off the rears to be painted red.

also they squeal now and then!

BMW will charge you an hours labour charge for something that would take a local garage 20mins max and charge you about £30

I agree with Jon. It sounds like your brakes need bleeding. Not a hard task and I would have whomever painted the calipers pay as they messed it up.

The painter had to pull the caliper and remove the pads, maybe he left out a pad? Unless he opened a bleeder or removed the hoses, they should not need bleeding. I would get in there and look at those calipers real close immediately. The rear brakes have a rotating piston for the handbrake, maybe he turned it down and did not put things back right. In order to correct this if it is the problem, you will need a special tool that pushes the piston and rotates it at the same time.
