Advice needed - please help me!

Hey guys,

I need some advice on what you all think I should do...

This is the never ending saga of "Purpee" my 06 plate black eyed purple cooper convertible.

He's not had a good life bless him... bought brand new from MINI chesterfield as a replacement for the always broken 'WOW' (black MINI one), he also was broken from new with various recurring faults the dealership never fix properly (see all my other posts!!!), hit from behind by some dosey woman and subsequently had a new bum, endless months in the garage, and now is due for his 25k service and has a list of 17 issues that need fixing... Several of which have previously been 'fixed' at least once before!
  • PAS reservoir leaking (Previously - 1st had a new breather cap, 2nd had a new reservoir)
  • Drivers door break creak (Previously - new door break)
  • Passenger seat – memory (Previously - fault corrected)
  • Roof wear – significant white marks ( Previously told not unusual/ bad enough to have new roof)
  • Roof – windows still do not always work in conjunction with the roof (Previsouyl - recoded several times to 'fix' the issue - still doesn't work)
  • Roof – rattle/ squeak noise above passenger seat when roof is open in sunroof mode
  • Roof – part of the mechanism has come through the fabric above the passenger seat
  • Clutch is squeaking as fully pressed down
  • Steering column – knocking noise
  • Spotlights (Previously – rusted and therefore replaced)
  • Exhaust – noisy (only replaced in Jan 06 at Sytner body shop after accident)
  • Gears - Struggling in 1st gear again, having to put extra revs on to stop the vehicle stalling(Previously - had the engine memory reset to 'leanr again')
  • Gears- Difficulty putting the car into reverse… Have to let the car move/ roll slightly to get it to go into reverse.
  • Mysterious electrical problems – I opened my car put my bag in and shut the door and the car locked it self. Every time I open the car, it locked it self again straight away! I eventually managed to open the drivers door and it tried to lock it self again. I got in my car and shut the door and the car started opening and locking it self constantly for a minute!
  • Interior light – does not come on as you take the key out the ignition anymore
  • Auto air con – auto button does not always work
  • Occasional sharp pull to the right when breaking.
In a vain attempt to get someone to try and get the dealership to do their job properly and fix the damn faults I have contacted Trading Standards, Watchdog, Top Gear, MINI Customer Service ( Hello Gemma if you're reading this), MINI Regional Technical Manager, my solicitor... but to no avail... I also tried to reject the car a number of times but nobody would have it as I paid outright for the car there was nobody such as MINI financial services to have a vested interest in my case.
The car is still not right and I don't know what to do about it!!! The last attempt to fix all the problems was in late Jan and I was told it would all be fixed. I informed the dealership that if they did not fix the car I would be seeking a replacement from them - the only problem with that is that I would apparently be expected to contribute to a new vehicle?????

What should I do....

Please help

Sarah.

The locking issue sounds like the dreading water in the BCU (body control unit) most of the other stuff I can't help with

Wow Sarah and I thought I had a problem (just with the clutch). This sounds terrible. I hope it is all sorted out for you - don't see why you should be expected to contribute to a new vehicle after all that has happened Caz
