Airbag Light reset sofware

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the BMW MINI scene, my daughter has just bought a 52 cooper and is in love with it. The air bag light has just come on , and I thinh it may well be the seat connector problem ( this is a common fault with VW too by the way). Can anyone recomend any software that will work with the OBD that will both check faults and reset the light please.

Many Thanks

There is software but it's very expensive at the moment. The regular service light reset tools don't do the job.

A trip to BMW I'm afraid. Mine has recently come back on again. It's really irritating as nothing has been under the seat at all since the last time it was reset.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Thanks for thr replies

Thanks for the replies, it's a pity there isn't any software yet at a reasonable price. I did find a gut who claims to have a handheld which will read codea and reset the airbag. It's about £99, which is only 2 trips to the stealers so would be worthwhile investing. They are out of stock at present, but I've asked him to check that they will work, as they only say all BMW cars and I wonder if this includes MINI. I will try the WD40 trick art the weekend and see what happens.

Thanks again and will report back ant further development with the handheld.

The WD40 trick wont work as the light will never reset itself once on. It has to be reset by computer.

Faulty loom.
Early models particularly susceptible.
Replacement required.
Dealer/stealer will clear fault code and reset it.

Good News!

Hi all , have at last found a reset tool which seams to work with the MINI. The tool is a B200 which I bought from a guy on Ebay.. My local dealer wanted £60.99 to reset the light!

Here's a source. Wonder if it really works on the MINI.

OBDToolStore.com

Peake says their B5/SRS is not designed to work on the MINI, although
some have said it does and some have said it doesn't.

Hi guys, can i ask you all how bright your airbag light is that has come on? Because mine has come on too but it isn't fully illuminated. It's very faint and kinda flickers? What does that mean?
