Hi Everyone, I'm new to the BMW MINI scene, my daughter has just bought a 52 cooper and is in love with it. The air bag light has just come on , and I thinh it may well be the seat connector problem ( this is a common fault with VW too by the way). Can anyone recomend any software that will work with the OBD that will both check faults and reset the light please.
under the seats there is two switches unplug the two for about 10 minis and DON`T NOT TURN THE INGTION ON WHAT EVER !!! then spary some wd40 in there then plug back in turn ingtion back on start up and move the car back and forward if it goes out the good but if not then it is a trip to mini and it should cost about £40 but that is a on the high scale .
good luck
There is software but it's very expensive at the moment. The regular service light reset tools don't do the job.
A trip to BMW I'm afraid. Mine has recently come back on again. It's really irritating as nothing has been under the seat at all since the last time it was reset.
Thanks for the replies, it's a pity there isn't any software yet at a reasonable price. I did find a gut who claims to have a handheld which will read codea and reset the airbag. It's about £99, which is only 2 trips to the stealers so would be worthwhile investing. They are out of stock at present, but I've asked him to check that they will work, as they only say all BMW cars and I wonder if this includes MINI. I will try the WD40 trick art the weekend and see what happens.
Thanks again and will report back ant further development with the handheld.
was heavily involved in another thread on this & even went to VOSA as MINI UK will still not admit there is a design fault with the loom DESPITE MINI US extending the warranty on that SAME PART to 10years
Hi all , have at last found a reset tool which seams to work with the MINI. The tool is a B200 which I bought from a guy on Ebay.. My local dealer wanted £60.99 to reset the light!
Hi guys, can i ask you all how bright your airbag light is that has come on? Because mine has come on too but it isn't fully illuminated. It's very faint and kinda flickers? What does that mean?
Moss Europe do this tool which allows fault code reading and resetting of BMW Mini systems. Supplied with full instructions for about £200 BMW MINI Tool (part no. MRD1306)
